A cracked heat exchanger might, under the right conditions, create elevated levels of CO, but this is not typical. If a furnace has a cracked heat exchanger, the combustion gases can mix with the household air. It’s usually just a little bit, but this is still unacceptable, and it means the furnace or heat exchanger should be replaced. More on that topic here: Heat Exchanger Cracks and Carbon Monoxide Myths.
There are many sources of ultrasonic sound in a lab environment including motors, fans, microprocessors and sensors. Any size motor driven equipment, from small fans in computers to larger ventilation fans and exhaust hoods, commonly generate some level of ultrasonic sound due to friction from poor lubrication, rubbing, scraping, or skidding of rolling elements against a bearing raceway, mechanical flaws, or contaminated in lubricant. Many sensors actually function by producing ultrasonic sound, such as motion detectors for automatic door openers or lighting on/off controls, particulate detection, fluid flow sensors as well as cell phones, monitors, and CPUs.
False: High CO levels = cracked heat exchanger. See above. We usually test CO levels in the flue gas at furnaces, but not with the idea that this will tell us about a cracked heat exchanger. Heat exchangers fail when the metal rusts through or when it cracks. CO does not cause this.

When asking a seller to perform repairs, it’s important to be specific. Say exactly what should be done, by whom, permits pulled, inspected, and approved, when the work should be completed by, and documentation provided to the buyer by a certain date.

For the purpose of clarity, a nuisance alarm is often an unknown alarm. The cause can be anything from spiders in a smoke detector to a high-power transmitter in a passing motor vehicle, like a federal police vehicle. It can be a module in the fire alarm panel, a malfunctioning notification and/auxiliary power supply, an annunciator, or a million and one other things going bad. It can be the result of condensation in a piece of galvanized EMT conduit, or the result of a lightning strike.
Meanwhile, trustees in 2018 also made it easier for township residents to spruce up their yards. They did this by expanding the township’s branch dropoff site to accept yard waste, such as leaves and grass clippings.
The commission moved to rulemaking after determining that voluntary standard efforts did not do enough to rein in deaths and injuries caused by the vehiclesâ poor lateral stability and vehicle handling, and the lack of occupant protection features, such as seatbelts. This touched off a seven-year, concerted effort between the CPSC and industry to beef up ROVsâ performance requirements. In November 2016, after the Recreational Off-Road Vehicle Association (ROHVA) and the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI) finalized amending their ANSI voluntary standards to the CPSCâs satisfaction, the staff recommended that the rulemaking be terminated. The staff concluded that the new standards would likely reduce ROV rollovers, by increasing lateral stability and decreasing occupant ejections through seat-belt use and improved side retention.
