Project Overview

Beijing Anzhen Hospital Jilin Hospital is part of China’s national regional medical center program. Located in Northeast China, the hospital is positioned to serve patients across Jilin, the three northeastern provinces, and Inner Mongolia.

The project covers about 73,000 square meters, with 1,000 planned beds, including operating rooms, ICU areas, outpatient spaces, inpatient wards, and a negative-pressure infectious disease building.

For this project, Holtop supplied 228 sets of HVAC equipment, including screw air-cooled cold and hot water units, total heat recovery heat pump units, digital intelligent energy recovery air conditioning units, and combined air handling units.

Equipment Solutions for Different Medical Spaces

The hospital uses a graded HVAC configuration to meet the needs of different areas.

Large public spaces such as outpatient halls, waiting areas, and office areas are served by efficient heating and cooling source systems to maintain comfortable temperature and sufficient fresh air.

General diagnosis, treatment, and inpatient areas use Holtop digital intelligent energy recovery air conditioning units. These units help maintain indoor comfort while reducing energy consumption through liquid circulation heat recovery.

Key clean areas such as operating rooms, ICU rooms, and laboratories use combined air handling units to maintain stable temperature, humidity, cleanliness, and pressure control.

Clean Air Protection for Critical Areas

For operating rooms, ICU areas, and infection-control buildings, stable airflow control is essential. Holtop’s system monitors pressure data in real time and adjusts pressure gradients between different zones.

The system helps maintain a 5Pa pressure difference, guiding airflow from cleaner areas toward more contaminated areas. This supports infection-control requirements and reduces the risk of air cross-contamination.

Holtop combined air handling units also provide multi-stage filtration and precise temperature and humidity control, with temperature control accuracy of ±1°C and humidity control accuracy of ±5%.

Energy-Saving Design for Long-Term Hospital Operation

Hospitals operate for long hours and require stable HVAC performance. Energy efficiency is therefore an important part of system design.

At the main-unit level, Holtop screw air-cooled cold and hot water units deliver reliable performance with COP ≥ 3.24 and CSPF ≥ 3.9. The total heat recovery air-cooled heat pump unit reaches IPLV ≥ 7.2.

During operation, the system can recover condenser waste heat to produce domestic hot water, reducing dependence on traditional boiler-based heating.

At the terminal level, Holtop digital intelligent energy recovery air conditioning units use liquid circulation energy recovery technology. The heat recovery efficiency reaches over 60%, helping pre-cool or pre-heat fresh air and reduce the fresh air treatment load.

With both main-unit heat recovery and terminal energy recovery, the overall energy consumption is reduced by 28% compared with a traditional HVAC solution, meeting the requirements for green building operation.

Intelligent Control and Remote Management

The system is equipped with Holtop’s digital intelligent control system. It adjusts equipment operation according to real-time heating and cooling loads, enabling more accurate on-demand operation.

The system also supports equipment status monitoring, fault alerts, maintenance reminders, and remote parameter adjustment through an IoT platform. This helps improve operation efficiency and makes hospital HVAC management easier.

Full-Cycle Project Support

Holtop provided support throughout the project. Before installation, the team carried out design optimization based on the cold climate conditions in Northeast China and used BIM technology for detailed planning.

During installation and commissioning, Holtop supported site coordination and quality control. After delivery, the team provided operation training and local after-sales support.

After official operation, the system was tested by a third-party organization. The operating performance and energy consumption data met the project design requirements.
