Breathing Healthily, Fresh Air Flight Virus! The 4th Sino-German Fresh Air Summit Forum Was Held Online

The 4th Sino-German Fresh Air Summit (Online) Forum was officially held on February 18, 2020. The theme of this forum is “Breathing Healthily, Fresh Air Flight Virus” (Freies Atmen, Pest Eindaemmen), which is jointly sponsored by Sina Real Estate, China Air Purification Industry Alliance, Tianjin University “Indoor Air Environment Quality Control” Tianjin Key Laboratory, and Tongda Building. In the context of the pandemic, several authoritative experts in the field of ventilation from China and Germany interpreted the development prospects of fresh air system in the current situation from different levels, exchanged the new role of fresh air in the prevention of the pandemic, explored new scenes of fresh air system in household use, enlighten new ideas in the revolution of the fresh air system.

The Sino-German Fresh Air Summit Forum has been successfully held in China and Germany three times before, and the fourth one is held for the first time by way of online live broadcast on the Internet. The forum aims to build a communication bridge for the common development of Sino-German ventilation field through the technical exchanges, multicultural and experience collisions between both countries ‘experts, and promote the healthy and rapid development of the domestic fresh air ventilation industry.

Speaker, Dai Zizhu, a researcher at the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention and chairman of the China Air Purification Industry Alliance, emphasized that the office and public places should implement the relevant management guidelines edited by the China CDC, and implement the guidelines in “When the air conditioning and ventilation system is a all-air system, the return air valve should be closed and the all fresh air operation mode should be used.

Ms. Deng Gaofeng, Director of the Low-Carbon Building Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Building Sciences and Secretary-General of the China Air Purification Industry Alliance, believes that the current situation of indoor and outdoor air quality is still severe, and indoor pollution is far greater than outdoor pollution. The measure to improve indoor air quality is inletting fresh air to increase ventilation and reduce indoor pollutant concentrations.

Deng Fengfeng said that the data showed that the sales volume of China’s fresh air system in 2019 reached 1.46 million units, a year-on-year increase of 39%; the sales scale of the fresh air industry in 2020 is expected to exceed 2.11 million units, an increase of about 45% year-on-year. She believes that China ’s huge building holdings and the long process required for environmental governance have created the huge potential market of China ’s fresh air purification system in the long term in the future.

Professor Liu Junjie, professor and doctor of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering, Tianjin University, and director of the Tianjin Key Laboratory of “Indoor Environment Air Quality Control”, shared the findings of the survey: opening window or natural ventilation is affected by outdoor pollution and climatic factors, the fresh air volume and effect cannot be guaranteed, so the best plan to fight against the epidemic is to use energy recovery ventilator and purifier continuously.

Ye Chun, general manager of the Sina Real Estate Construction Division, shared a set of monitoring data: the market requirement of fresh air ventilation system in China’s hardcover real estate in January to November 2018 was 246,108 units; from January to November 2019, it reached 874,519 units. It increased 355% in the same period last year. From January to November 2019, Vanke Real Estate deployed a total of 125,000 sets of fresh air, and Country Garden and Evergrande exceeded 70,000 units.

Jin Jimeng, general manager of Shanghai Tongda Planning and Architectural Design Co., Ltd. said in his speech that air conditioning energy consumption accounts for 30% to 50% of public building energy consumption, and ventilation energy consumption accounts for 20% to 40% of air conditioning energy consumption, if use energy recovery fresh air ventilation system instead of natural ventilation, it will bring significant energy savings.

Academician Zhong Nanshan also called for: people usually spend 80% of their daily work, study or other aspects indoors, and he is exposed to indoor air. A person has to breathe more than 20,000 times a day, and at least 10,000 liters of gas are exchanged with the environment every day. It can be seen that if the indoor air is polluted, it will cause great harm to human health.

The challenges of indoor air quality and people’s healthy breathing are still severe, but the solution is also very clear, that is to introduce fresh air, increasing the ventilation volume, and reducing the concentration of indoor pollutants. At present, the importance of the fresh air ventilation system in epidemic prevention raise widely recognized, it plays important role on the daily use in household and develops rapidly in residence and public buildings. As people’s awareness of healthy breathing getting stronger, it is believed that the fresh air heat recovery ventilation industry will have a sustained and rapid development.
